EOH Galleries open three new exhibits with music and refreshments
EARLVILLE – Feel the stirrings of spring at the Earlville Opera House Arts Center on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. (free). Help us celebrate the new exhibitions: Recent Discoveries by Cathy Breslaw and The Life of Water by Judith Present.
Enjoy a Micro-Music Festival in the Arts Cafe with a line up including Melissa Grace Clark, John Crespi, Dave Folta, Lisa Nojaim, Putter Cox, Reyna Stagnaro, Cosby Gibson, Linda Lemay, Bob Rozwod, Werner Koegst, Liz Friedel, Larry Jordan and Steve Blais.
In the East Gallery, Cathy Breslaw will present her multi-media work that “engages materiality” with the “layering of transparent plastic mesh and wire, blending in irregular and unexpected ways ... This work is a fusion of painting, weaving and sculpture. Issues of feminism, beauty and cross-cultural boundaries form some of its undercurrents.” Cathy Breslaw of Carlsbad, California has exhibited nationally from coast to coast. She has an MFA from Claremont Graduate University, Calif. and her B.A from George Washington University.
For an interesting contrast, visit the Arts Café gallery where Judith Present of Starrucca, Pa. explores The Life of Water. “Water has no color except for reflections of other things, like sky, image, and light. It also takes other forms such as ice, frost and snow. My photographs capture the variety of water, in plant life, time of day, seasons, forms and reflections that enrich what we see.”
